Born on August 6, 1985, Elder Justin Emmanuel Obi was born to Deacon Christopher Okechukwu Obi and Crystal Obi of Marked Tree, Arkansas. A true son of the Church, he was raised at Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Superintendent David Lee Corns. Through the spiritual influence of his late aunt, Missionary Minnie Pearl Crockett, along with Superintendent and Lady Corns, Elder Obi was immersed in the things of God from an early age.

Superintendent Corns was the founder of the renowned D. L. Corns Music Workshop, which became widely known throughout Northeast Arkansas. It was there that Elder Obi began cultivating his gift in music, developing into a skilled and anointed organist and minister of music whose ministry would later impact congregations across the nation and abroad.

Although he once vowed he would never follow in his father’s footsteps as a military veteran, Elder Obi ultimately answered the call to serve his country as well. Having grown up as an Army Brat, he enlisted in the United States Army and faithfully served as a Quartermaster and 92Y Unit Supply Specialist and Property Book Officer Clerk. As a wartime veteran, his military service afforded him the opportunity to travel throughout the world while remaining steadfast in fellowship with the Church of God in Christ.

Throughout his military and ministry journey, Elder Obi served faithfully under numerous respected leaders across several jurisdictions. Raised in Arkansas First Jurisdiction under the leadership of the late Bishop L. T. Walker, he later served under the late Superintendent George W. Price in Junction City, Kansas, during the leadership of the late Bishop J. C. Gilkey of Kansas Southwest Jurisdiction. While stationed in Kitzingen, Germany, he served Elder Charles Burr under the leadership of the late Bishop C. L. Moody of the Germany Jurisdiction. In Tacoma and Seattle, Washington, he served Apostle David A. Davis under the leadership of the late Bishop T. L. Westbrook of Washington State Jurisdiction. In Atlanta, Georgia, he served Dr. Roosevelt D. Allen under the leadership of Bishop Norman O. Harper of South Central Georgia Jurisdiction. He also served faithfully under Pastor Joseph Ray Marzett in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

From each of these leaders, Elder Obi gained wisdom, discipline, and spiritual insight that helped shape his ministry. However, it was not until October 2014 that he publicly accepted the call of God upon his life. While serving faithfully in Oklahoma under Pastor Marzett, Elder Obi was ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ in 2017 by Bishop Malcolm W. Coby, PhD, Prelate of the Oklahoma Southeast Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction and former General Board Member of the Church of God in Christ, Inc.

After serving two years as a Jurisdictional Minister of Music and later being appointed Jurisdictional Department of Evangelism President, Elder Obi matriculated through the ranks of the International Department of Evangelism. He went on to serve as Vice Chairman of the International Church of God in Christ Collegiate Campus Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Elijah H. Hankerson III, General Board Member of the Church of God in Christ, Inc.

In February 2020, Elder Obi relocated to Detroit, Michigan, where he served faithfully at Jackson Memorial Temple Church of God in Christ in Flint, Michigan, as an associate minister under the leadership of Administrative Assistant Kiemba Knowlin. With the blessing of his pastor, he began conducting outreach initiatives and evangelistic pop up crusades throughout Mount Clemens and the greater Macomb County area. Through these efforts, countless souls were saved, and many individuals and families received food, clothing, prayer, and support through the work of his ministry.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, God provided provision for the vision through the establishment of Kingdom Community Church. As Lead Servant, Elder Obi continues to lead with a passion for evangelism, discipleship, outreach, and holistic community transformation.

In addition to ministry, Elder Obi remains committed to academic and leadership development. He is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Leadership and a Master’s degree in Chaplaincy through  Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

Elder Obi currently serves as the Vice President of the Michigan North Central Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Department of Evangelism under the dynamic leadership of Chief Apostle of the Church of God in Christ, Inc., Michigan North Central Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Prelate, Presiding Bishop J. Drew Sheard. In March 2026, he was appointed International Church of God in Christ Collegiate Campus Ministries Co Chairman under the leadership of International Department of Evangelism President Administrative Assistant Gary F. Sprewell.

Beyond his evangelistic ministry, Elder Obi also serves as Chief Executive Officer and Co Chairman of Kingdom Community Development Center, a community development corporation committed to outreach, empowerment, and community transformation.

Above every title and accomplishment, Elder Obi is most honored to be the husband of Lady Charla Jae Obi and the proud father of Daniel, Chariel, Joel, Joy, and Justin Jr.
